Project launch of the research and development project "Opportunities and risks of digitalization for severely disabled employees"

Launch of the research and development project in the chemical industry in the Berlin-Mark Brandenburg district of IG BCE "Opportunities and risks of digitalization for severely disabled employees".

Digitalization is rapidly changing the world of work. In the debate on demographic change and the growing challenge of securing skilled workers, there are repeated calls for greater use to be made of the potential of severely disabled people. The project therefore examines the changes, opportunities and risks that the digitalization of the world of work poses for severely disabled people and those with equal rights, and what practical impulses can be provided for improved inclusion in the workplace. The results of the analysis will be used to draw conclusions for the practical work of interest groups (works councils and representatives of the severely disabled). In particular, factors for the success of inclusion and good practice in the work of the interest representatives will be identified. On this basis, recommendations for action and an online tool for workplace representatives will be developed.

The project is funded by the BGAG-Foundation Walter Hesselbach.
